We are delighted to welcome six organisations and initiatives that recently joined the Dgroups Partnership:

  • The CLimate and REsilience (CLARE ) Programme is a UK-Canada framework research programme on Climate Adaptation and Resilience, aiming to enable socially inclusive and sustainable action to build resilience to climate change and natural hazards in Africa and Asia-Pacific. The Dgroups Foundation team worked with the CLARE team at IDRC and FCDO to design a public website alongside an internal knowledge management platform to support collaboration, interaction, and learning across the programme.

  • AQUADAPT (Nature-based Climate Solutions in Aquaculture in Asia-Pacific), is a four-year programme funded by IDRC and the Government of Canada to address the intertwined critical challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, and food insecurity through applied research on nature-based solutions in aquaculture across Southeast Asia and the Pacific region. The Dgroups Foundation is working with the AQUADAPT team to develop an internal knowledge management platform with facilities to support monitoring and evaluation as well as cross-programme peer learning, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.

  • The CGIAR Climate Adaptation and Mitigation platform set up an online community to reinforce interaction, dialogue and exchange across 500+ individuals working in CGIAR centres and partners.

  • The One Ocean Learn online discussion group complements the One Ocean Learn knowledge portal by providing a space where members can share and generate knowledge. Curated by One Ocean Hub researchers with particular appreciation for local, indigenous and community knowledge, the discussion group and knowledge portal connect knowledge from different sources, aiming to enhance learners’ capacities for using integrated knowledge. In particular, the platform aims to shine a light on the ‘furthest stars’, namely local, Indigenous, and national initiatives on the ocean which are often obscured by the overload of information available online.

  • The Wyss Academy for Nature builds bridges between scientific knowledge, political power, and action. By engaging with various stakeholders it develops, tests, and catalyses solutions that transform the relationship between people and nature (source). We are collaborating with the Academy South America Hub to pilot the use of online communities of practice in support of their work on Innovative Territorial Governance; Environmental Resources management and value chains; and Knowledge Dialogue.

  • ETC Andes is a non-profit association working on sustainable rural development. ETC is the editor of the long-standing LEISA agroecology magazine, a quarterly publication that promotes the optimal use of local resources and natural processes. It also promotes interaction and integration between local and universal knowledge. We are supporting ETC with the creation and facilitation of online groups that serve as a discussion space to accompany the articles published in the LEISA magazine.

We are keen to collaborate on joint projects and outreach using online tools and approaches where the Dgroups Foundation’s networks can add value. Let us know of any ideas you might like to explore further or discuss.
